- Don’t Swim With Your Hair Open
With all the waterproof sprays and gels, promising that you can wear your hair to the pool next summer, it can understandably be tempting to wear your wig out when going to swim but please don’t.
Even our own hair, swimming with our hair open causes our hair to get more tangled and the harsh chemicals often present also dry out your hair, making it more prone to tangling. It’s the same thing for your hair, and if you want to keep your wig looking and feeling good for longer,  frontal lace wigs.
- Sleep with a Bonnet or Satin Scarf
Netflix will have you feeling like you can head to bed with your hair open, toss and turn the whole night, and somehow wake up with beautiful, smooth curls. They lied. It doesn’t work like that.
If you’ve ever worn your wig out for a crazy night, then you know how frizzy it looked the next morning. So to keep your wig from unnecessary tangling and breakage, make sure you sleep with a satin bonnet or scarf on.
Tip: Tie your hair into one ponytail or however many you feel comfortable doing first. Doing this before you sleep reduces the amount of tangling that may occur if you just place your hair inside your bonnet without tying it up first.
- Always Use Conditioner When Washing
Do not skimp on the rinse-out conditioner! I repeat do not skimp on the rinse-out conditioner! Leave-in conditioners are great, and in some cases, can even be substituted for a rinse-out conditioner, but if you can use a rinse-out conditioner, opt for that instead.
Rinse-out conditioners are formulated to provide lots of hydration and slip in a very short amount of time, and those two will be key to helping you maintain the texture and luster of your deep wave wig.
- Don’t Use Combs (Unless You Really Have To)
Unless your hair really needs it, steer clear of combs and heating tools and opt to finger detangle your hair. It’s really easy to do, and when done more frequently, it remains quick to do.
Either way, always start from your ends and slowly work your way up your strand, all the way to the root.
- Don’t Use Heavy Products on Your Hair
Deep wave wigs are curly hair units, and just as it is with curly hair, don’t use heavy products on your wigs. On Curly and wavy hair, heavy products tend to way the hair down, temporarily altering the wig’s curl pattern.
Also, avoid using oils on your hair regularly, and definitely don’t use something like grease on your wigs.
Bonus tip: If you can avoid it, don’t sleep in your wig. That’s one of the easiest ways to avoid having lots of tangles in your hair.
